Canty is an East London songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, self taught from a young age. With the announcement of his signing to London label Full Time Hobby, Canty made his mark with debut single ‘Follower’ which found early support from KEXP and DIY Magazine. The release was met with enthusiasm, evidenced by the rapid sell-out of the Rough Trade exclusive 'Follower' / 'Mercy Street' 7-inch adorned with hand-drawn sleeves.
Canty continues to build a level of infamy through his select appearances around London’s underground circuit including supports for MorMor and Nourished by Time. Canty's songs have been described as full of 'dreamy emotive cinematism' by Crack Magazine and 'enchanting, sensitive and thought-provoking' by Metal Magazine.
After rounding the year off with his ‘Boyfriend / Girlfriend’ EP, Canty returns in 2024 with new single ‘hahaha’ taken from upcoming EP ‘hahahahahahahahaha’ which received early support from KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic and multiple plays across BBC 6 Music. The new EP showcases his ability to blend and hop between genres with consummate ease while offering a glimpse of the brilliance yet to come on a larger scale release.
